Increasing Workout Intensity for Fat Loss

In order to lose fat during my mini cut I’ve increased the intensity of my workouts (in addition to slowly lowering my calories). By performing 1 minute of cardio between sets and minimizing my rest time between exercises I’m able to:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
?increase my energy expenditure (burn more cals)
?increase my cardio vascular endurance
?increase my body’s ability to use stored fat for fuel as high intensity exercise quickly depletes stored carbs
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Next week I’ll be sharing a video with 7 ways I include cardio between sets.

  1. Hi, Nikki!
I’m trying to match caloric deficit and fat loss. I have problem in how to know the calories I may have lost after a workout. I’m using My Fitness Pal but I’m not sure if I’m doing it correctly. Could you help me?
    Thanks!

When trying to lose weight your focus shouldn’t be on how many calories you are losing via exercise but instead on what you are eating. I never use the calories burned information from my smart watch. I wrote a blog post about them. While they can be super motivating most of them are inaccurate. So trying to eat based on how many calories burned is not the best way to lose weight. If you are looking for weight loss tips I recommend looking up “weight loss tips” which is a post I wrote with all my tips. =)
