Essentially if I had used a measuring cup to measure my oats everyday for 5 days, I would have consumed six 1/2 cup servings intead of five because 1/2 cup = 48 grams. Those 8 additional grams over the course of 5 days totals another 40 grams which is a whole extra serving. While this might not make a huge difference in the long run, it has the potential to make a big difference if you are measuring all your carbohydrates this way.
